Business accountability
Commercial direction

01 / ABOUT
Evolution is an Auckland-based architectural joinery company developing, manufacturing and installing cabinetry, wall linings and custom timber details across New Zealand.
The team works alongside designers, architects and builders to protect the intended result through the realities of manufacture and installation.
02 / CLOSE TO THE WORK
Business leadership, operations, technical development, manufacturing and installation remain in one working conversation. That matters when a detail changes, a material behaves differently than expected, or a site condition requires another way forward.
03 / RESPONSIBILITY
Commercial direction
Responsible for the business, commercial direction and the commitments Evolution makes to clients, suppliers and project partners.
Project coordination
Coordinates pricing, contracts, project communication, operations and the practical path from enquiry through delivery.
Buildability and installation
Leads technical development and works through the manufacturing and installation details that turn the design information into buildable work.
These responsibilities are supported by the drawing and CNC programming team, cabinetmakers and installers who carry each solution through production and onto site.
04 / HOW WE WORK
Important decisions are not separated from the people responsible for making and installing the result.
Constraints, exclusions, specialist interfaces and unanswered questions are made visible rather than hidden inside the process.
Drawings, testing and production planning are used to reduce avoidable decisions during installation.
Manufacture is planned around access, sequencing, protection and the final junction—not only around leaving the workshop.

05 / COLLABORATION
The designer or architect establishes the intention. The builder manages the wider construction. Specialist trades deliver their own materials and systems. Evolution contributes joinery development, manufacturing and installation knowledge so the cabinetry and timberwork meet those surrounding elements cleanly.
That means asking questions early, coordinating dimensions and access, and making the boundaries between scopes visible before they become site problems.

06 / BUILT ON RELATIONSHIPS
Translate the intended material, proportion and detail into a manufacturable joinery package without quietly redesigning the interior.
Coordinate programme, access, services, substrates and adjoining construction so the installation sequence is understood.
Resolve the joinery interface with stone, metal, glass, upholstery, lighting and other specialist elements supplied by others.
Make scope, timing, cost and unresolved decisions visible so expectations remain grounded from pricing through completion.
07 / START A CONVERSATION
Send the drawings, scope or unresolved detail. The team will review where Evolution can contribute and what information is needed next.
